About the Role
Our client is seeking an analytically minded professional to support portfolio‑level risk oversight within a specialty insurance environment. This role is highly execution‑focused and suited for someone who enjoys working directly with data, building repeatable processes, and supporting risk‑informed decision making in real time.
This is an individual contributor position with broad exposure across underwriting, analytics, and reinsurance functions. The role sits close to leadership and plays a key part in translating technical risk information into usable insights for the business. While the initial focus is hands‑on delivery, there is long‑term potential for the role to evolve as the organization grows.
What You'll Be Working On
- Manage and refine recurring exposure and accumulation reporting used to monitor portfolio risk across multiple business segments
- Perform catastrophe analytics to support internal risk monitoring and external stakeholder needs
- Own data quality checks, validation, and reconciliation related to property exposure and event risk
- Prepare concise summaries and visual outputs that communicate complex risk concepts clearly to non‑technical audiences
- Support reinsurance evaluation by analyzing portfolio performance under various loss scenarios
- Maintain and enhance internal datasets used for risk tracking, planning, and capacity monitoring
- Collaborate closely with underwriting, analytics, and finance teams to respond to time‑sensitive data requests
What Our Client Is Looking For
- Several years of experience in exposure management, catastrophe analytics, or portfolio risk within P&C insurance
- Strong comfort working directly with large, imperfect datasets and turning them into reliable outputs
- Hands‑on experience with catastrophe modeling tools used in property insurance
- Technical skills in data manipulation or programming, such as SQL, Python, R, or similar tools
- Experience creating repeatable reports or dashboards for leadership consumption
- Ability to think critically about model output, assumptions, and limitations rather than taking results at face value
- Clear communication skills and the ability to explain analytical findings in practical business terms
Why This Role Stands Out
This is a chance to step into a role with real visibility and influence, where the work directly impacts how risk is measured and managed across a growing platform. Our client values thoughtful analysis, intellectual curiosity, and people who want to understand the "why" behind the numbers, not just produce them.
